Do you have any questions about selling your wine or spirits? At Epic Cellars, we know it can be a little daunting for first time sellers. That's why we've put together an extensive FAQ!

  • Can I buy wine from you?
    Unfortunately, we are not licensed to sell to individuals
  • Can I buy Bourbon from you?
    Unfortunately, we're only licensed to sell to businesses in posession of a valid liquor license
  • Do you buy empty bottles?
    No, we do not, but there is a market for it on eBAY and Craigslist.
  • Do you buy empty wine crates or original wooden boxes?
    No, we do not, but there is a market for it on eBAY and Craigslist.
  • Do you buy crystal dishes?
    We may buy the Roederer "Cristal" Champagne your Grandmother left you, but we can't help you with her crystal.
  • Hassle-free sounds too good to be true! What's the catch if I sell my bottles to you?
    There is no catch! We offer fair prices, fast transaction-turnaround and super friendly customer servce
  • Are there really no fees?
    Yes. Really. If we make an offer on your bottle that is what you will get paid provided your bottle arrives in the agreed upon condition. The overhead of all necessary supplies, two-way standard shipping, insurance, admin labor and temperature controlled storage are included in our offer.
  • What happens if I change my mind about selling?
    Sellers remorse? We understand it happens, sometimes... We will just ask you to kindly return the shipping supplies to us
  • I inherited a cellar but am not a collector. Can you help me?
    Inheriting a cellar can be overwhelming and we'd be glad to help. Send us a note and we will walk you through the process. Check out our blog article for an overview of what to do! <link />
  • I have an open bottle of rare bourbon that I'd like to sell, will you purchase it?"
    Sorry, we do not buy opened bottles, no matter the brand or price. We suggest that you enjoy it!
  • How quickly do you pay?
    Payment is made within 24 hours of reciept and inspection of your bottles, though we strive to pay as soon as the bottles are checked in; we understand that it is important for you to receive your funds as quickly as possible. There are a number of factors that can impact shipping. Each of our shipping labels includes a tracking number. You can track your shipment to us in the same way you'd track a delivery you're expecting and we're always happy to provide an update if you like!
  • How will I get paid?
    We offer a number of options: Paypal, Zelle, ACH/Direct Deposit transfer. For our most concerned customers we even offer an Escrow option through SafeFunds
  • I believe I gave you the wrong PayPal email address; what happens now?
    If the payment has not been claimed, we can recall it and send to a different PayPal address. You also may add the email address to your PayPal account if it is not already in use with a different PayPal account. If the payment has been claimed, you will have to call PayPal customer service at 888.221.1161 to work through the issue directly with them. Because we send the funds "Friends and Family", we are unable to dispute transactions or request refunds.
  • What if none of the payment options work for me?
    Please contact us, we are often able to work out a solution.
  • What happens if the shipping carrier damages my goods?
    When we say we put our customers first, we mean it; should the shipment be lost or damaged, we pay immediately as if everything was received in good order and then we file the claim with the carrier.
  • Do I need to send a picture of my shipping tracking receipt?
    There is no need to send us a picture of your tracking number. We are able to monitor all shipments on our account.
  • What happens after I have shipped my bottle(s)?
    Once your bottle is recieved at our warehouse, it is inspected by an appraiser. If your bottle meets our standards and is as it was represented in our discussion and in your photos, payment is issued within 24-hours, though we do strive to pay as soon the same day, as the bottles are checked in.
  • Is my bottle insured?
    Yes! Everything you send us is 100% insured the moment you leave it with the carrier; don't drop your bottle(s) on the way in! ;-) We do recommend that you ask for a drop-off receipt.
  • How do I ship my bottle(s) to you?
    Once you have accepted our offer we will send all shipping supplies to you within (2) business days. The supplies you reclieve will be specific to your bottle. If your bottle(s) are not tendered to UPS within (10) days our agreement will be void and we will ask you to return the supplies to us. If something has come up and you need to delay shipping, please send us a note to let us know.   • Do you offer expedited shipping?
    Yes, but the difference in shipping cost will be deducted from our payment to you.
  • Can I drop off my bottles in person?
    We are not open to the public and do not offer a drop-off option. We do, however, take care of all shipping supplies, expenses, and insurance.
  • How do I pack my bottles for shipping?
    We will provide you all necessary shipping supplies and pre-paid return label(s). Watch our (very quick) video for a tutorial on how to pack and how NOT to pack your bottles.

  • Do you purchase single bottles?

  • Can I sell my bottle(s) to you if I do not live in the US?
    Unfortunately, we are only licensed to do business and ship within the US. It would require charging appropriate overseas taxes and abiding by your specific alcohol shipping laws.
  • How long is my quote good for?
    We will stand by our quote for (10) days. After (10) days we will check to make sure no market adjustments are needed. If there are market adjustments our offer will be adjusted accordingly
  • Do you purchase Champagne
    Yes! Though we typically are looking for the finer, collectible ones, which include Dom Perignon, Cristal, Salon, La Grande Dame, and Krug, among others. Drop us a note to let us know what you're looking to sell!
  • Do you purchase wine
    Absolutely! We are particularly interested in fine, collectible varietals of the French, Italian, and domestic regions. Check out the overview on our homepage or feel free to consult the complete list of wines, champagnes, whiskies, scotches, and cognacs we're purchased to see if your bottle is in the list! We are always expanding the list of what we buy so even if you're not finding your bottle listed, please contact us with the details of what you're selling!
  • Do you purchase Bourbon
    You bet we do! We're always looking for limited releases, collectible Bourbons! Some of the Bourbons we're always buying include all releases of Pappy Van Winkle, Eagle Rare, George T Stagg, William LaRue Weller, Thomas Handy Sazerac, as well as many editions of Elijah Craig, Jefferson Presidential, Old Fitzgerald, E.
